Austria, Germany, Russia, Byzantium, Orthodoxy have or had double headed eagles as their emblems. The double headed eagle looks at all the world both east and west. An eagle is known for his unparalleled view. Common is the phrase a bird's eye view. Also, an eagle can see far away further than any other creature. His sight is strong. A double headed eagle sees everything, it symbolizes foresight, wisdom, prophesying, seeing things from another perspective, it has the whole picture, it knows the future and the past. Moreover, it is a freak, out of this world, supernatural, miraculous.
